Exquisite embroidery on this beautiful cotton huipil dress, handmade in Oaxaca, in a village of creative Mixteca women embroiderers, situated far beyond the reach of tourism. These textile pieces are traditionally created using a waist loom, a pre-Hispanic technique where the artisan, through a methodical process of thread counting, produces a piece of cloth of incredible beauty. Due to its handmade process, which lasts between 3 to 12 months depending on details; each garment is unique. One of a kind piece, frayed by hand. Round neck, no sleeves, knee length, frayed at the bottom. The fabric is natural cotton in black, embroidery is in cream colored cotton thread.
Hand wash in cold water, hang or lay flat to dry.
