Exquisite embroidery on this beautiful cotton huipil dress, handmade in Oaxaca, in a village of creative Mixteca women embroiderers, situated far beyond the reach of tourism. These textile pieces are traditionally created using a waist loom, a pre-Hispanic technique where the artisan, through a methodical process of thread counting, produces a piece of cloth of incredible beauty. Due to its handmade process, which lasts between 3 to 12 months depending on details; each garment is unique. One of a kind piece, frayed by hand. Round neck, no sleeves, knee length, frayed at the bottom. The fabric is natural cotton in black, embroidery is in cream colored cotton thread.
